Alyssa Barros

Alyssa Barros serves as Equip God’s People’s Executive Assistant to the U.S. Director, Matt Hutchcraft, helping advance Equip GP’s mission of walking alongside churches with personalized, contextualized, and strategic mobilization support. She is passionate about seeing believers equipped, inspired, and released to live every day on mission with God — not as spectators, but as active participants in His redemptive work.

Recently married to her husband Nathan, Alyssa is completing her degree in Nonprofit Leadership at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul, where she will graduate in December 2026. Nathan is also studying at Northwestern, pursuing Computer Science and Cybersecurity. Together, they share a deep commitment to mobilization and discipleship within the local church, investing in young leaders and encouraging believers to embrace everyday mission with God.

Alyssa first joined Equip GP as an intern during the 2025–2026 academic year. During her internship, she contributed to course and product development, communications, and behind-the-scenes ministry work, gaining hands‑on experience in how Equip GP supports churches and individuals through clear pathways, practical tools, and intentional guidance. She now serves part‑time while finishing her degree and looks forward to joining Equip GP as a full‑time team member after graduation.

Both Nathan and Alyssa are actively involved with Simply Mobilizing’s Kairos course and are passionate about helping believers develop a missional worldview. They love seeing people recognize their role in God’s global mission and step confidently into everyday obedience. Alyssa is especially drawn to equipping kids, youth, and young adults to be leaders and live every day on mission with God.

Alyssa and Nathan enjoy hiking, backpacking, serving in their local church, and spending time with their families. Together, they love exploring new places, investing in young leaders, and building Christ‑centered community wherever God has placed them.

In her role with Equip GP, Alyssa brings strategic administrative leadership, communications and content development, course coordination and mobilization support, and a deep heart for discipleship. Her background in nonprofit leadership and ministry operations strengthens Equip GP’s ability to serve churches with excellence, intentionality, and a personalized approach.
